Show Me The Prototype: Hardware Demo Night

  • Sep 3, 2015 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

A special thank you to Intel who generously supported this event and our partner General Assembly .

Hi hardware pioneers!

Hope you are having a lovely holiday time! ... Just kidding, I know you are working on the next big thing; day and night. After all as Elon Musk said "Vacation will kill you".

We are also pretty busy organising a glorious hardware demo night at Google Campus where you will have the opportunity to show your prototype in front of hundreds of fellow 'hardwarians'.

Do you want to demo?

1. RSVP on this page.

2. Follow this link and book your free ticket.

3. Fill out this form to demo your prototype/product. First come first served. Here is the full list of startups who have already applied.

Do you only want to attend?

1. RSVP "YES" on this page.

2. Follow this link and book your free ticket.

As usual plenty of drinks and pizza will be served!

Enjoy your holidays and work hardware!

This was an excellent meeting. I don't often give 5*! Top quality attendees and subject matter. Travelling down from Cambridge for the next one is going to be a joy, not a chore. I just wish the pizzas were a bit earlier - but worth the wait! (Domino's, eat your heart out...)

    Hi all,

I'm both an Engineer and a Podcaster, and really looking forward to seeing some innovative products tonight! My colleague James S and I do a podcast every other week called The Gadget Crowd ( ), which is focused around crowdfunded technology projects. We would absolutely love if anyone coming to this would fancy having a (recorded) chat with us about what it's like being a hardware startup. Some things we're particularly interested in are:

    * Your views on crowdfunding in general (pros and cons as a project creator or as a backer)
    * If you're working on a UAV/drone product we'd love to hear about it, and your views on legislation in the UK.
    * What's your view on the perceived stigma of using Chinese factories, especially when making use of stock parts (e.g. enclosures)

We'll be the ones with recorders in our hands :) I have a beard and long hair, but perhaps that might not be a distinguishing feature :)

"I have invented an energy management platform. It can minimise the cost of power in smart homes, smart shops and smart offices. "

    Should this interest investors?

Hey Leonard, you should definetly sign up for giving a demo. The link is in the event description.

Is it reasonable to pony up for a full CAD design of your Prototype before a 3 D printing company can estimate the cost per unit for low volume injection moulding?

    August 26, 2015

    • David B.

Which "3D printing company can estimate the cost per unit for low volume injection moulding"? That sounds weird to me.

      August 26, 2015

    • David B.

FYI most people use ProtoLabs (http://www.protolabs....) for quoting low volume injection moulding. They have some limitations on the part they can produce but is the easiest-cheapest way to go if volumes are very small.

Hi, can someone please recommend me a place where I can book time on 3D printing and CNC machines, to produce a functional prototype?

    Thank you!!

Not keen to set up yet another online a/c to register a ticket. (And GA doesn't work with Google or Twitter or other 3rd-party IDs.)
