What we're about

This is a local group for the Harry Potter and the Sacred Text podcast. While being a listener to the podcast isn't a requirement, we definitely encourage it! We will aim to have a similar format and will attempt to do similar spiritual readings of the Harry Potter series as found on the podcast. Our meetups will likely be in the Somerville/Bridgewater, NJ area or the Somerset/New Brunswick, NJ area. We hope to meet every other week. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

From the HPST website: "This podcast creates time in your week to think about life’s big questions. Because reading fiction doesn’t help us escape the world, it helps us live in it. Each week, we explore a central theme through which to explore the characters and context, always grounding ourselves in the text. We'll engage in traditional forms of sacred reading to unearth the hidden gifts within even the most mundane sentences. On this podcast, we ask: What if we read the books we love as if they were sacred texts?"
