Join us for a secular mindfulness meditation. We will start this meditation by focusing on the breath, and then shift to noticing our thoughts. We will label our thoughts as either positive, negative, or neutral. This is a good practice that can help us throughout the week, so we can notice when we are dwelling excessively on negative thoughts (which is so easy to do given what's in the news!)
No previous experience with meditation is necessary. If you have any questions, email [masked].
The meditation is in the basement of the library at Harvard's Science Center. Enter the building from the main plaza where the food trucks are located. Walk into the Clover Cafe, look to your right and you will see the entrance to the library. Just tell the security guard you are going to the meditation. Once in the library, take the stairs to the basement turn left, and keep walking to to the glass-enclosed room at the end.
Our meditations have been collected into a book published by New World Library: Secular Meditation: Practices for Cultivating Inner Peace, Compassion, and Joy (http://www.newworldlibrary.com/BooksProducts/ProductDetails/tabid/64/SKU/83697/Default.aspx).
We also have a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/207307035531/).
