What we're about

Anyone who has hypothyroidism (due to Hashimoto's an autoimmune disease) and is looking for a support group:

I have been able to bring my antibodies down significantly and reduce my symptoms by following Dr. Wentz's protocol. I would like to start again and help others on their healing journey and hopefully, I will also learn new information in the process. I am not a medical professional and I will not make any medical recommendations I am a long-term patient looking to help and gain support from others.

I am planning a 20-week course where we will use Dr. Izabella Wentz's "Hashimoto's Protocol" book to try to reduce our symptoms, our antibody count, and hopefully, put our disease into remission. I have purchased her online "Self-Healing Management" program which comes with workbooks and videos. Please buy her book if you don't have it already. I have one copy you can borrow.

You will need to commit to 1-2 hour meeting every week.
You will need to bring a laptop with Excel (or something similar) installed so we can create a journal
You will need to bring a printout of all your past labs and prescriptions and any journals of symptoms you have had
You will need to bring a 3-ring binder (I will be handing out notes, printouts etc.)

I

In the meantime, if you could get all your lab results (hopefully your doctors gave you a copy each time as mine did) and note what medication doses you were taking at the time the test was taken somewhere on the printout and if you can remember what symptoms you were having at the time. We will be entering these into an Excel spreadsheet and be analyzing the results and looking for patterns of symptoms.

For example, the header could be set up like this:

Date Prescription & Dosage Symptoms Vit A Vit B12 Vit C Vit D Vit K Se Mg Zn Fe Thyroid TPO Ab, Thyroglobulin Ab TSH T4 Free T4 T3 Free T3 Reverse T3 DHEA Testosterone Etc (anything else you're tested for) (all on the same horizontal line ie. A1 through A25ish)

If you don't have all of these, that's okay for now.

Unfortunately, following the protocol accurately is costly. You will need money for changing to organic personal care items (toiletries), kitchen cooking pots & utensils, extra testing that your doctor refuses to order for you, organic foods, many vitamin & mineral supplements, etc. If you cannot afford to buy or do everything, you can still follow along with the best you can.
