International Board Game Day at The Games Keep

The Games Keep is going to have a special event on the newly instituted International Board Game Day.

This will be an all day board gaming event from noon to close. The Games Keep has a nice library of open board games available but feel free to bring your favorite games to play and share with others!

Sometime halfway through the day (around 4pm) they're going to have a special visit by Robert Malone and Chad Gingrich, hosts of the podcast Epic Geek Out, to film and play some games to do an episode of their podcast on tabletop gaming. Epic Geek Out is a podcast about movie reviews, video game reviews, technology and this time tabletop gaming! These guys are local to the Philly area and you can check out their podcast here: Epic Geek Out Podcast. It's really nice to see tabletop gaming picking up in the spotlight out there among all the other hobbies and entertainment available.

There are going to be several drawings for prizes at regular intervals through the day. We still don't know what the specific items are, but there are a number of promos relating to some of the games that were highlighted in previous episodes of Tabletop, such as Castle Panic, Dixit, 7 Wonders, and The Resistance, plus some extra stuff that Karl, the store owner, is going to throw in with the material he ordered for the event.

The IBGD was organized by Geek & Sundry, the makers of the TableTop podcast with Wil Wheaton, where he reviews various boargames to celebrate TableTop's 1st birthday. Check out their channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/geekandsundry.
