I'll be running a crash course in programming in Python, starting with the basics (primitive data types and basic control flow) to get you familiar with the key concepts of the language and how to use it. By the end of the evening you should be able to write a basic program to read the contents of a file, perform some computations on the data you find there, and output the results.
The class will cost $5; this is to offset the cost for the space.
Prerequisites: The only prerequisite is that you have Python on your computer. Mac and Linux users, it's already there. Windows users can follow the guide at https://wiki.python.org/moin/BeginnersGuide/Download to get set up.
