My friend Julia Pineda will be visiting Virginia from May 20-26. I met Julia in Honduras when I was looking for a therapist to help my mother with her long-time clinical depression. Julia is a remarkable family counselor who helped my mother, my family and me heal many issues that were keeping us from living happy, fulfilled lives. Julia is also a certified family constellations facilitator. Family Constellations is a form of therapy that is at the center of Julia’s approach to helping her patients resolve their problems. I have benefited personally from this gentle, loving approach to healing and am witness to the amazing transformations in the lives of several of Julia’s patients.
After I stopped seeing Julia professionally, we became good friends and I began to volunteer at her weekly Family Constellations workshops. After I decided to move back to Virginia, Julia and I were talking about a recent Family Constellations workshop and we began dreaming out loud about Julia coming to Virginia to offer Family Constellations workshops. And so, Julia will be here to present a couple of workshops the week she is here.
We wanted to make this available and affordable to those who are seeking to resolve life problems, such as illnesses, conflicts with spouse, children or other family members, poor finances, addictions, and any other problems that persist in a person’s life. If you have issues or patterns that continue to repeat themselves in your life or family even though you've tried many different things to address them, it is likely that inherited trauma exists.
Family Constellations (or Systemic Family Therapy) was first developed by the German therapist, Bert Hellinger. In this therapeutic approach, the individual is considered as part of a greater whole – a family system – rather than as a separate entity. The individual’s behavior, feelings and attitudes, are understood in the context of this larger group.
The workshop will take place on Sunday, May 20 in Ashburn, Virginia from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Please refer to the event for registration information and other details. Should there be enough interest in participating in the workshop, we hope to schedule another workshop for Saturday, May 26 in Ashburn or another location that you may be able offer for the workshop.
Please share this meetup with your family, friends and anyone else you think would be interested in participating in the upcoming workshop. If you’d like to make this healing therapy available to someone who cannot pay, please send your donation to the same address via PayPal with a note saying that it is a donation of healing for someone else.
