What we’re about

(Watch the inspiring video below, which is custom made for this meetup group.)

Spirituality is a broad concept with room for many perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves discovering the meaning of life. It is a universal human experience—something that touches us all. People may describe a spiritual experience as sacred or transcendent or simply a deep sense of aliveness and interconnectedness.

Some may find that their spiritual life is intricately linked to their association with a religion. Others may pray or find comfort in a personal relationship with God or a higher power. Still others seek meaning through their connections to nature or art. Your personal definition of spirituality may change throughout your life, adapting to your own experiences and growing awareness.

Many practices recommended for cultivating spirituality are similar to those recommended for improving emotional well being. This is because there is a strong connection between the two. Emotional and spiritual well being influence one another and overlap, as do all aspects of well being.

In our meetups, we will address the practical aspects of emotional well being, such as how to resolve emotional conflicts, let go of negative feelings, and recover from painful setbacks of life. We will also address how to stay positive and happy through healthy life, healthy relationships, good communication habits, and associating with positive and ethical individuals.

Thus, this group does not so much delve into the mysteries of the unknown, or discuss questions of what to believe in, but instead it seeks to help our members learn and define spirituality in order to be healthy, be well, be happy, and develop good relationships with the people around us, with a partner, and within ourselves.
If this is what you are interested in, please join this group. We will have free, regular meetings held at the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center near Marconi and Watt in Sacramento. People of all faiths or no faiths are welcome.
