Meetup #4 - Can You Pass the Data Please?

Come out and join us for an incredible opportunity to learn about the current state of health data integration with one of the premier experts in the nation and Dallas-area resident (by way of Colorado) Dave Shaver (Twitter = @RealWorldHL7 (http://twitter.com/realworldhl7)). Dave is the CTO, Founder and President of Corepoint Health (http://corepointhealth.com), the developer of Corepoint Integration Engine, the top-rated interface engine by KLAS the past four years. Based in Frisco, Corepoint Health customers include healthcare providers (health systems, imaging centers, labs, clinics), healthcare software providers and medical device manufacturers. Dave is also co-chair at HL7 International, the governing body of the HL7 Standard, which is the health data standard used in healthcare.

The "modernization" of the healthcare system has been brought about thanks to HITECH, Meaningful Use and the Affordable Care Act (aka, Obamacare). These three initiatives have a common theme: the need for health data integration and exchange between health facilities. With literally hundreds of different EHR vendors, combined with various applications, information systems and, now, mobile technologies, integrating the healthcare system is no small challenge.

Topics to be discussed include:

Healthcare standards and why they seem so difficult in healthcare. The importance of the user experience in development and design. Advice for application and mobile developers to put them in a position for long-term success/integration with health systems. The Future is Bright: The promise of HL7 FHIR for mobile integration. You won't want to miss this one, hope to see you all soon!
