Topic 1: Innovation in Digital Health

Speaker: Navin Govind, CEO, Aventyn

Navin Govind is founder and CEO of Aventyn, Inc., an award winning Carlsbad, CA based health technology company. Founded in 2004, Aventyn is a recognized global leader in digital health innovation focused on secure core to cloud, clinical information systems that seamlessly connect clinicians and patients for improved quality of life. Collaborating with a global network of clinical experts at hospitals in the US, UK, Sweden, India and UAE ; Aventyn’s connected health solutions enable sharing of personalized, interoperable health information to improve patient outcomes, reduce costly hospitalizations for the chronically ill and aging population at lower costs.

Prior to Aventyn, Navin was a founding team member at Tarari, Inc.; a venture backed privately held company from San Diego that was later acquired by LSI Logic. Navin started his career in the nineties and spent a decade at Intel Corporation contributing to the development of several multi-billion dollar winning global strategies for the adoption of new technology, architecture and products.

Navin has authored several original papers in peer reviewed journals and holds issued and pending patents. He has served as speaker and advisor at numerous health and technology industry panels, profiled in Kauffman Foundation Entrepreneurs in Digital Medicine, MIT Technology Review, US Chamber of Commerce Global IP CONNECT voices on Innovation Lifecycle and involved in digital health standards initiatives at TIA, HIMSS, and ETSI amongst others. Navin recently participated in an NSBA delegation at a White House briefing where President Barack Obama talked about the importance of business leaders, federal legislation and policy matters. In addition to meeting with a host of congressional leaders and lawmakers including former Chair of the House Budget Committee and Director of the Office of Management and Budget where he talked about critical issues ranging from contracting to immigration and healthcare.

Currently, with the launch of Aventyn’s Global Health Innovation Ecosystem and continued success as sponsor of its unique international, multi-center clinical evidence studies for management of chronic conditions; Navin passionately leads Aventyn in the commercialization of its novel digital health solutions fostering innovation in mobile medical technologies.

Topic 2: Digital Health in Infectious Diseases

Dr. C. Nagaraj graduated in Science in 1970, MBBS in 1976 and PhD in Micro Biology from Bangalore University. He has conducted research work under the National Vector borne disease control programme (NMEP,) developed drug resistance and epidemiology of malaria Serological and Molecular tests for Malaria. Including a new strain to diagnose malaria parasites, protective vaccine against P. Berghei infection among mice and a kit to diagnose leptospirosis. Dr. Nagaraj has vast experience as a medical research officer, senior epidemiologist and professor in micro biology

Digital Health and mobile monitoring device demos for heart failure monitoring, chronic disease management, mobile ultrasound, remote patient monitoring, collaborative cloud imaging solutions from GE, Philips, Aventyn amongst others.
