  • Intro: The Reference Model is a league of disease models describing phenomena observed within diabetic populations. The model is built from publicly available data sources and includes advanced technologies such as population generation, model combination and High Performance Computing. The Reference Model uses the MIcro Simulation Tool (MIST) to drive simulations.

    Short Bio: Jacob Barhak specializes in chronic disease modeling with emphasis on using computational technological solutions. Dr. Barhak has diverse international background in engineering and computing science. He was educated at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology and worked at the University of Michigan. The Reference Model for disease progression was independently self-developed by Dr. Barhak in 2012. He is the developer of the MIcro Simulation Tool (MIST).
