This is a beautiful trail I've picked out that takes us around the lake and up a path and back. It takes about an hour, but please budget 1 1/2 hrs for the hike in case it takes us a little longer. Usual fitness hike format = 15 min strength training, 30-40 min hike, 10 yoga stretch and meditation.
Please give yourself extra driving time and follow these directions so you can find us! (People have gotten lost before and there is NO CELL PHONE RECEPTION at this park).
Please read the speed limit signs and stop fully at every stop sign as the park rangers enforce traffic rules here with stop sign cameras etc. IF DRIVING FROM BEVERLY DRIVE AND SUNSET BLVD, take the signs to the LEFT towards the LAKE and then notice that after you're around the lake for a bit, the NATURE CENTER is on your right at that camera-enforced stop sign. There is a parking lot at the nature center, and please meet us there at the lot near the cars/picnic table. There are restrooms at the top of the nature center for your convenience but it's a longer trail so we want you to meet us down at the parking lot.
Please bring layers, hats/sunscreen, water, and trail mix for post-hike snack. Please be sure to eat a hearty low-glycemic breakfast so you have energy. This trail is good for beginners and adv beginners...yes there are some stairs and uphills.
