Pilates with Leanne Murray

A one hour Pilates mat class suitable for all ages, abilities and fitness levels. Pilates is a full body conditioning workout, moves are performed in a slow controlled way focusing on the Pilates principles. It’s a lovely mixture of strengthening, mobilisation and relaxation, to help you to restore balance to your body by correcting postural and muscular imbalances.
There are six principles of Pilates; Breath, centring, concentration, control, flowing movement and precision. This may sound complicated but you will soon get the hang of things and I will be reminding you throughout your sessions of everything you need to focus on. You will soon start to use these in everyday life not just on Pilates Mat.
There are many physical and mental benefits of Pilates. Regular and continued practice can help you to achieve:
Improved posture; a firmer flatter stomach and defined waist; increased flexibility; toned arms, shoulders, back, buttocks and thighs; improved core strength and coordination; more efficient breathing and blood circulation;
more energy; relief from muscle tensions and back pain; better sleep.
