Come hike with us on the Orange trail. We will be hiking from Picnic Lake to the four benches area and then back. This is a moderate hike with a distance of about seven miles.
This former phosphate mining area consists of lakes, marshes, grasslands, and wooded hills. It is an important refuge for wildlife and is on the Great Florida Birding Trail.
Please bring water, sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots (no flip flops), snacks and/or lunch, and insect protection.
Please note, as this is a Heartland Chapter activity, payment is not necessary. However, if coming here on your own during the open days of Friday to Monday, it is necessary to check in office to pay $3/person fee.
