DESCRIPTION: This will be a seven to eight mile hike in the Lower Green Swamp Nature Preserve that is owned and managed by Hillsborough County. Our exact route will depend on the trail conditions. We will certainly try to do the North loop located within a mosaic of native flatwoods and wetlands, representing some of the highest quality habitat on the preserve and is restricted to hiking (no horses). Some of the route will follow along the beautiful Itchepachesassa Creek. The pace will be a 2 (moderate) on a scale of 1 (leisurely) to 3 (fast). There is a port-a- john a short distance from the entrance, but that is the only bathroom facility on the hike.
