This is a Florida Trail Association (FTA) hiking activity opened to the public. FTA membership is not required to participate. Membership in the Florida Trail Association helps us in our efforts to build, protect and promote the Florida National Scenic Trail. JOIN US FOR A FULL MOON Light HIKE this evening. The hike is approximately 7 miles long.

WE WILL MEET in the Picnic Lake parking lot between 4:30 and 5:00 P.M. The Picnic Lake parking lot is located on the left, approximately 1/2 mile past the entrance to the WMA. There is a street sign marking the entrance to the parking lot. There are restroom facilities located at Picnic Lake. GPS:[masked], [masked].

THE HIKE WILL BEGIN AT 5:00 P.M. We will begin on the Red Trail and hike to an area with a picnic table and benches. There we will take a short break to eat supper and wait for the moon to rise. We will continue our hike on the Yellow Trail. The Yellow Trail is a gravel road that reflects the moonlight and is easy to navigate. Sunset is at 5:49 P.M and Moon rise is at 5:52 P.M.

HIKERS PARTICIPATING in this activity are not required to stop at the WMA office and pay for admittance to the Area. Drive directly to Picnic Lake. The entrance gate to the WMA closes at 6:30 P.M. and will not be reopened until the conclusion of the hike.

Flashlight/Headlamp w/batteries that will last for the duration of the hike.
Minimum 2 liters of water per person.
No bare feet, flip flops, or open-toed footwear.
Insect protection.

CHILDREN are welcome provided they can hike a 7 mile long hike. Children not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian will need to have a permission slip from a parent or their legal guardian.

PETS are not permitted for this nighttime hike.
