This is a Heartland Chapter of the Florida Trail Association (FTA) hiking activity opened to the public. FTA membership is not required to participate.
We will be doing the new Creek Bluffs Loop plus the Highlands Loop Trail - approximately 8 miles. Meet at 9:00 am at trailhead on Wakeford Rd.
Proceed on Rt. 60 south of Lake Wales. Turn right on Walk in Water Rd. and proceed to Wakeford Rd. Turn right and proceed to the kiosk. This entrance takes us to the new loop which follows along Tiger Creek before connecting with the Highlands Trail loop. The Preserve encompasses some of the highest hills and oldest land in the Florida peninsula. Botanical diversity is extensive along this trail. Optional lunch afterwards.
