What we're about

We are the Hickory Humanist Alliance (http://HickoryHumanist.org), a local chapter of the American Humanist Association. We host regular meetings and events in the Hickory area and engage in community service (such as Adopt-A-Highway for Tate Blvd in Hickory). We are also a group member of the Catawba Valley Interfaith Council (http://CatawbaValleyInterfaithCouncil.org).

Roughly one in four Americans are now religiously unaffiliated, and somewhere between 12 and 21% identify as atheist or agnostic. We are building a community in the Catawba Valley where secular humanists can come together for fellowship and help make our community a better place for everyone.

"The good life is inspired by love and guided by knowledge." - Bertrand Russell
