Let's hike out in the east end some more!
Long Sault is part of the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Area.
Hilly, forest-covered terrain greets the eye at Long Sault Conservation Area. This park is in the middle of the pleasantly hilly Oak Ridges Moraine, which was formed during the last ice age. The view is particularly spectacular, especially from the high elevations on the moraine.
The terrain, though rugged, is suitable for various activities, such as running, hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, nature walks, bird watching and picnicking.
