Do people often tell you that "you're too sensitive"? That “you over-think things”, “you worry too much” or “you need to toughen up”? Do you feel “different” from others but don’t know why?
Highly Sensitive People (HSP) make up 15-20% of the population. Our brain and nervous system is wired differently to most: we process things more deeply than others; pick up on subtle stimuli; are empathetic and emotionally sensitive; and are physically sensitive and overstimulated more easily. And usually we have no idea we have a simple trait that explains what’s going.
Welcome to the Wellington HSP meet-up! There’s something particularly validating to realize that you’re not alone: there are others who have some idea of what it’s like to be a sensitive person in a busy and often overwhelming world.
This group was created to connect people to share friendship, ideas and tips on thriving with other likeminded and like-hearted people. Let's get together to support, socialise and have a laugh.
This is not a therapy or support group, it's a social gathering for getting in touch with the positive expressions of our trait: discovering new ways of coping with its challenges and ways to maximize its extraordinary gifts and joys.
If you’d love to make friends with other gentle souls like yourself, come and join us!
Hosted by Mely Brown, a registered natural health practitioner and health coach, and an HSP herself.
