This meetup is a support group for those identifying as highly sensitive to come together and share issues and solutions in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Although this is not therapy, it can be therapeutic to be heard and listen to others. Our goal is to better understand our traits, share our experience with other HSP's and move beyond feelings of not fitting in and the belief that we are somehow “broken” to a personal empowerment which benefits us and our world in profound new ways. Because of the nature of this group and limited meeting space, it will be necessary to RSVP each week you wish to attend. HSP meetups are always scent-free.

  • This Is Me: Real Stories of the Gifts and Challenges of Being Sensitive

Join six local storytellers who have realized along their life journey that they were more sensitive, more impacted than those around them by their environments and by the energy of the people in their lives. Sometimes humorous, always full of struggle and hope, these stories are a doorway to honoring our own tenderness, or the more sensitive nature of those we encounter in our lives. In a culture that prefers tough-skinned living, how can we choose to express the strengths and gifts of our sensitivities? What can this unlock for the healing of all of us and of our planet? Whether you personally experience a high degree of sensitivity or are a parent, caregiver, teacher, or employer who is supporting people with sensitivities, there are stories here for you. Come listen for inspiration, for resources for self-care, and for keeping your big heart open in a difficult world. PLEASE NOTE: Franklin and I will be presenters at "This is Me" and wanted our Meetup members to have a chance to attend. However it is not a regular Meetup event. To attend you will need to go to www.eventbrite.com, search under "This Is Me" Portland, Oregon to RSVP and obtain a ticket there.
