300 N Third Ave, Upland, CA
This is a SOCIAL RIDE, good for those just getting back into biking and for those who just want a relaxing ride and morning with friends. This is a flat ride that should not be a problem for all riders.
We will meet at the Pacific Electric Bike Trail off 3rd Ave. in Upland and head west to our destination - Claremont Village, to enjoy some coffee/refreshments and a walk through the Claremont Farmer's Market. The Claremont Farmer's Market is a wonderful outdoor market with vendors that sell locally grown produce, organic produce, flowers, jewelry, crafts and other items! The ride is on a nicely paved dedicated bike path, and has multiple stops at lighted intersections for regrouping. Once the path ends at Claremont, we will ride a short distance on the street to the Village.
MILES: 6 miles round trip with stops at lighted street crossings.
DIFFICULTY: Easy to low moderate depending on your conditioning and bike riding experience. We will ride at an easy to moderate pace.
BIKE: Hybrid, cruiser, mountain, or road.
WHAT TO BRING: Recommend to wear a bike helmet for safety to participate in this ride. You should also bring water, a lock so we can walk through the Farmer's Market. Back pack suggested to carry your farmer's market goodies on the return ride.
THE ACTUAL START TIME IS 9:00 A.M., SO YOU SHOULD ARRIVE AT THE PARKING LOT AT LEAST 15-20 MINUTES EARLY TO UNLOAD/ PREPARE YOUR BIKE AND FOR INSTRUCTIONS. GET YOUR BIKE READY WITH AIR OR REPAIR FLATS THE DAY BEFORE.
