This is an all day ECO tour where we'll make 4 stops in the Ipswich River Valley.

1st - A visit to the Mass Audubon property, The Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. We'll walk 4 miles exploring picturesque forests, meadows, wetlands, drumlins, and eskers. You will marvel at the diversity of wildlife, especially bird species. Bring your Camera - lots of photo opps. We will stop for lunch here on the trails.

2nd - We'll stop at Russel Orchards Farm Store. A local farm, store and gift shop to to sample their fruity wines, coffee, apple cider donuts and local produce. It is strawberry season.

3rd - The Crane Estate at Castle Hill - We'll stop at this amazing estate built by family of plumbing fame. We'll take a short tour of the building and then walk through the amazing gardens and grounds as part of a 3 mile walk. We will walk the lawn to the overlook of Steep Hill Beach with stunning views of Plum Island and surrounding area. We will then walk down to the beach, one of the best in Mass, with powdery soft sand. We walk along where the Ipswich and Parker Rivers meet the open ocean, and loop back along a scenic estuary.

4th - We'll end our day at the Ipswich Ale Brewery for a bite and optional beverage. It's a local microbrewry with selections for everyone. The beer is very good, but there is also wine available and a good menu.

We are encouraging car pooling on this trip. We will meet at Rockland Park and Ride at 8:45 or at Ipswich River Sanctuary in Topsfield at 9:45 and start walk at 10. There are bathroom facilities there and a gift shop.
