Earth Day@Mt.Tam State Park+(*Hike Leader Training with Meetup Hike Afterwards*)

Lead by the Mt.Tam State Park Rangers & Staff;

The event is, "Earth Day at Mt.Tamalpais State Park". After we give something back to the Park (Trail work starts 9:30am ends at noon), we'll Hike out after the Hosted Lunch (lunch starts around 12:10pm).

The hike will start at 1:15pm from the Lower Lot at Pantoll. We will cover the basics of planning and leading a group hike. Starting with planning today's hike. (*See below for more Hike details.)

Parking is free today in the Pantoll Lot. But come early, 8:45am, to assure easy parking and avoid diversion to another lot after Pantoll fills. You will not miss the event if you are a little late, but the hosted breakfast may be gone?

This year we will be working on  some of the most scenic trails. We will be up and around the Pantoll and Bootjack areas.

 Bring some work or gardening gloves, a sun protective hat, water
and  boots.

Light breakfast and lunch provided.

 Our State Park Ranger hosts will lead the groups out to the work sites and get things started. Park maintenance staff will also be on site to instruct in proper trail work techniques and give out tools.

It will be a great way to spend a beautiful spring day, with lots of sunshine and good company; come join the group.

*Hike Leader Training & Hike, afterwards.

*Afterwards we'll have a Meetup hike from Pantoll. Meet in the Lower Parking Lot, (where we usually have lunch). We'll hike out to see the Views, Redwoods, Wildflowers and stretch our legs.

The Hike and Hike Leader Training will last about  2.5 hours and cover three or four miles. If you would like to learn to use your Smartphone, as a map screen, for the Hiking Trails and as a GPS; for route planning before the hike, and tracking while hiking, bring yours with you.

But ahead of time, download from the Google Play Store for Droid the following, free apps. Google, "MyTracks" and also, "Google Pedometer".

For iPhone download the, "MyTrails", app.
