What we're about

Welcome to SHAC, our hiking and activity group! If you have someone special in your life and would like to share adventures with other couples, join us! We will be doing lots of hiking, camping, backpacking, kid-friendly hiking, and occasional social get-togethers. So, if you are married, dating, newly dating, etc., and want to join a hiking group that is drama-free and designed for couples, we will see you on the trail!

Our group will be doing a http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/2/9/d/event_22937053.jpeg

vast array of activities, so that all levels will feel welcomed and will have a chance to participate. We will be doing even http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/d/8/f/a/event_22915546.jpeg ts such as hikes to Mt. Tallac, Mt. Tamalpais, Thunder Mountain, Castle Peak, and even more strenuous mountains included. We also have a regular array of hikes and walks throughout the week, some of which are kid-friendly. A lot of our regular hikes are great workouts that certainly beat being in a gym. We look forward to camping in Yosemite, Big Sur, and the north coast. We are always open to suggestions from members as well.

Anyone interested in an unique dining get-together???
Needs a date and time

Needs a location

Hello Friends, We would like to host an elegant dinner party in a very unique venue…we would be having dinner in an underground chamber that used to be part of the old jail in Mokelumne Hill (near Jackson). This section is not open to the public; it’s used for private parties and special wine-tasting dinners. We are members of the historic Hotel Ledger and the owners are allowing us to host a dinner party in this great private venue! It would most likely be an elegant buffet style dinner in an intimate space where we can savor a little bit of Mother Lode history. This brick-lined room is lit with a huge chandelier and surrounded by candlelight. After dinner, we can enjoy live music and cocktails upstairs in the historic saloon, (open to the public) and if interested, spend the night in the hotel as we are also being offered special pricing to stay the night in this historic hotel that is over 150 years old! The Hotel Leger has long held a reputation for being haunted. Stories have circulated from people who swear they've seen something out of the corner of their eyes and strange noises can sometimes be heard. Hotel guests have also reported waking up to find an apparition standing in their room, only to find the spirit disappear when they look more closely. The area we have in mind for dinner will seat up to 14 people. If we have at least 10 people interested, we will book it. There is another part of this private area that will accommodate a larger group if needed. If you are interested, in the comments, please tell us the top three dates you prefer. I would prefer a Saturday night, or even Friday, so we can take advantage of the live music after dinner. We were also thinking of making this a 20s theme….come dressed in your 20s theme attire. Let us know if you are interested in that as well. Hope to hear from you all soon! Here is a link to the Hotel Leger. But keep in mind, the area will be having our dinner party is not pictured because it’s a private area. http://www.hotelleger.com
