Join us for a beautiful 4 mile(s) hike and learn, and meet some fellow geeks!
A docent from the Shoal Creek Conservancy will lead us on an exciting hike along the southern portion of the Shoal Creek Trail. We'll meet at the North entrance to Pease Park at W 24th Street and will leave the trailhead promptly by 10:10am.
We'll first explore Pease Park, which is known for its birding, and appreciate the flora and fauna found in woodland, riparian, and grassland habitats. Then we'll travel south through House Park and Duncan Park and enjoy going back in time as we cross underneath the historic 6th St. bridge and past a historic trestle built in the 1920s. Our hike will return at the mouth of Shoal Creek at Lady Bird Lake.
This hike will take approximately two hours and will be 4 miles round trip. Parking is available at Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park and the surrounding neighborhood.

Embark on a photo adventure like no other. Learn photography from a pro (in partnership with Precision Camera), and traverse Iceland like a local. We're setting out on an incredible 6 day adventure to capture auroras, ice caves, glaciers, mountains, black beaches, and other incredible terrain of Iceland. What can you expect of Iceland in the winter? Glaciers, ice caves, black sand beaches, northern lights, amazing stars, waterfalls, and a world of sunsets and sunrises as the sun makes a short appearance low in the sky for a few hours each day. We’ll explore this rugged, wild and beautiful land, camera in hand. In short, this trip is a landscape photographer’s dream.
