The beach off season is fun because with less visitors it's a no hassle environment. Little traffic driving down the shore. No problem parking anywhere when we arrive. The beaches are clean and empty and even more beautiful than the summer.

This shore hike will take us to Strathmere across bridge from Corson's Inlet. The views from the walk across the bridge are spectacular. The beautiful beaches at Strathmere are a secret gem even during the season. If you like white sandy large Caribbean beaches, they are here. The many sandbars in this area fill the ocean with white breaking waves for hundreds of yards. Viewed from Corson's Inlet across the bay the town of Strathmere looks like a Brigadoon Island just settled down from the beyond.

From the Corson's Inlet parking lot we walk for 2-3 hours on the beach before heading for lunch. We'll drive to Piccini restaurant near the center of town, 12th and West Ave, to see the lunch situation for the pandemic era. Hopefully we can eat there. There is a Wawa next door. After lunch we'll walk the boardwalk till 3 pm always stopping at Johnson's Popcorn. Often we'll do the entire boardwalk.

Caution: You should be able to walk 3-4 hours without much of a break. You should have recently hiked 8 miles in conditions detailed above.
