Contact Lily if you are interested and can't find info on this post!
DEPARTURE TIME: 5:00PM. Plan on about 3-3.5 hours for 8.5 miles RT, with about 2300 ft vertical gain and about that much loss (a strenuous workout for elevation, distance and pace. It is almost Full Moon tonight, but we may be in the dark if it's cloudy, bring your flashlight) If we have a group signs up for shorter time and distance, that'll be 2-2.5 hours and about 5.5-6 miles
ROUTE: We will meet at Gate 14 of Laguna Coast Wilderness. Since this is a residential area, we'll limit number of participants, only RSVP if you are sure to go. Boat Canyon is a ridge above Laguna Beach, after a mile uphill, if it's clear, we will be at sunset and moonrise time. We'll continue on Boat Canyon Rd to Boomer Ridge Rd, then head down Big Bend trail to Laguna CoastWilderness/Laguna Canyon 133. The back up hill Laguna Ridge trail is steep, single track less than a mile, then we'll be back down Boat Canyon Rd to the trailhead.
ESSENTIALS: Bring water, snacks and flashlight. There is no shade on this hike, but a great view at sunset and nice moon rise if it's clear. Wear clothes that you don't get wet just in case we run into the rain.
DIRECTIONS: We meet at Gate 14 http://www.ocparks.co... (http://www.ocparks.com/uploadgraphics/laguna2008.pdf)
