What we're about

Sponsored by the Clarke County Historical Association, we meet monthly to discuss fiction and non-fiction books about history. There are no restrictions to time or place in history. So far, we've read works about the real life of Cleopatra, Native Canadians during World War I, and America's haunted past. We read mostly non-fiction, but solid works of historical fiction are also considered. Book suggestions are encouraged!

We are a group of history lovers who like to read and learn about different aspects of history. We are a casual, fun group. You don't need to feel intimidated - we are here because we want to learn more about history, not because we already know all there is to know. Adults of all ages and knowledge are welcome!

As the group grows, we'd also like to consider incorporating films or other activities related to the books we're reading. We hope you'll join us! If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Marissa Stalvey at marissa.stalvey@gmail.com.
