Hoboken is an interesting town and, with its proximity to New York City and all it has to offer, a great place to live. I know – I’ve resided here for over 20 years. But, since the city is predominantly composed of people born after the year 1975, the challenge for those born one or two decades earlier is meeting local people in our own age group. That is precisely the reason I decided to take over the group when Linda stepped down ─ to organize outings for those “of a certain age” for the purpose of mingling, networking, forming friendships, and just having fun in our own town. Besides just meeting after work for drinks, I would like to expand our activities to include dinners, picnics in warm weather, outings, and the like. I invite suggestions from members. My hope and intention is that this group will foster a sense of community by providing people with the opportunity to meet regularly with others of their own age, in their own town.
Come join us someplace new - but not new to Hoboken! Let's go to Leo’s Grandevous for dinner! Leo’s is not only one of the oldest and best-known Italian restaurants in Hoboken, it is the best place to appreciate the music of Frank Sinatra and the classic style of Hoboken.
Please RSVP by Monday Oct 21st to accommodate reservations. If you find that you can't attend, please update your RSVP. We need to be more stringent with reservations this time.
