    If you're interested in coding, even if you aren't quite sure what it's all about, or want to learn more about Holberton's innovative software engineering program, this information session is for you! Join us at the New Haven Free Public Library in the Exchange at Ives Squared to learn more about the school. This session is open to anyone who is interested, including prospective students, parents, educators and all members of our community. Invite your friends and family, and gear up for: - Information about the two-year Software Engineering program - Q&A with staff from the New Haven campus - The opportunity to start your application right on site* *The application is free, and no prior experience is required to apply!   • Collaborative Software Development with Git and GitHub

    Discover git workflows that put version control at the center of your coding process, whether you're working by yourself or with hundreds of teammates. This talk will cover git basics and then move on to topics like merge conflict resolution, rebasing, and release branches with git flow. Both git-cli and git GUIs will be used Meet Ben: Ben Heller is a Principal Engineer on the cloud services team at Plex. He was previously Director of Software at Arccos Golf, where he coded for iOS, Android, and web. He believes productivity is best measured not by the number of lines of code you've written, but by the number you've deleted.

Currently, Joemice works for Stanley Black & Decker as Vice President & Chief Architect, responsible for overseeing the Architecture, Integration, and Application Development teams.

Join Bill Guida from Bull Flag Group as he leads a panel discussion with blockchain developers, fund managers, and research professionals to talk about the future of crypto and the major issues and challenges that exist in current blockchain projects. Bryant Eisenbach, Ethereum smart contract engineer, co-founder of DappDevs, Co-Founder of SecurETH, Lead smart contract engineer for GunClear Brendan Smith, Managing Partner, Shuttle Capital: Brandon is the Managing Partner for Shuttle Capital, a VC focused on investing and advising early stage Enterprise B2B blockchain businesses. In his previous role he ran a practice within PwC servicing top Fortune 500 companies in healthcare and financial services. Wilson Withiam, Researcher, Circle Research Wilson is currently a Research Analyst at Circle -- a financial services company for digital assets. He also runs the Stamford chapter for DappDevs -- an organization that supports a community of developers to learn from each other about building blockchain-based applications. Additionally, Wilson has spent time conducting research and building prototypes on blockchain technology alongside the Computer Science Department at UConn-Stamford Kyle Asman, founder of BX3 Capital

Come join us during our on-site application night to learn a bit more about the program, meet staff, students and co-applicants, and use one of our brand new computers! Once you've attended an onsite application night, you can also come back during business hours to keep working on the application! *Application nights are for anyone who hasn't started the application process, as well as those of you who have taken the leap already.

    Interested in Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency, but not sure where or how to get started? Join Bill Guida at Holberton School New Haven for an insiders look at all you need to know. Bill Guida first discovered Bitcoin in 2013, and has been investigating and researching ever since. He left his previous field of Systems Management in 2017 and has dedicated his time to research with Bull Flag Group and formerly Silver Bay Capital. Bill has spend the last 18 months traveling the globe meeting with funders, developers, and experts for his research. Bill is a true believer in Bitcoin and is dedicated to helping those new to crypto better understand Bitcoin from a macro level.
