What we're about

Organized by Tanya Kersey, founder and executive director of the Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF), the Hollywood Black Film Industry Meetup is a professional peer support, networking and masterminding group where indie black filmmakers, screenwriters, and actors can fellowship with a diverse group of producers, studio and network executives, agents, managers, attorneys and other professionals from the film, television, and new media industries.

The Hollywood Black Film Industry Meetup hosts specially-curated monthly informational, networking, cultural and other industry events where you can meet & greet, mingle, fellowship with, connect with, and form creative collaborations with others in Hollywood’s black film community and allied industries.

The group is newly forming and is NOT meeting in person yet. The first monthly event is scheduled to take place in October, 2019.

In keeping with the festival’s commitment to supporting the black creative community, and in keeping with its motto: Access. Opportunities. Deals., the Hollywood Black Film Industry Meetup is focused on fostering and developing opportunities and providing filmmakers, screenwriters and actors with access to Hollywood professionals in an informal “get together” environment.

While the group specifically targets Black filmmakers, screenwriters and actors, membership is open to EVERYONE of all races, religions, nationalities, politics, and ethnic backgrounds,
