Welcome Homeschoolers! Come join other homeschoolers and explore all the DC metro region has to offer. Homeschool Explorers is a field trip group created for homeschoolers to have fun, socialize, meet new friends, visit new places and learn a little along the way.
This group is for families actively homeschooling children in grades Kindergarten and up. Homeschool Explorers is open to homeschoolers living anywhere in the DC/MD/VA metro area. While most trips and activities will be close to the DC metro core, anyone willing to drive to the meet ups is welcome to join.
Homeschool Explorers welcomes all teaching styles, ethnicities, creeds, races and religions. We are not affiliated with any group or religious organization; come as you are! All members are expected to respect any differences in other member's teaching practices, beliefs and religions.
Membership Details: Homeschool Explorers is designed for homeschool families whose oldest homeschooler is in grade Kindergarten or higher and will be at least 5 years old by September of the current school year (e.g.: for the 2014-2015 school year, age 5 by September 2014). Younger siblings, who are not yet 5 are welcome to join us, under their parents supervision. Homeschoolers who are currently 4 years old, who but will be turning 5 by September of the following school year, will be approved for membership in June of the previous school year so they and their parents can have a chance to make some friends over the summer and get a sense of what it means to be a homeschooler.
This is an ACTIVE group and members are expected to attend at least one field trip every three months (with the exception of June-August for summer vacation). For the privacy of our members, this is a private group. Request membership and come explore with us!
So, where will you explore?
