What we're about
We're building in-person connections among the homeschoolers of Brooklyn Park, Maryland.
Currently our relaxed, welcoming group meets up at a Brooklyn Park or Linthicum library and/or playground one afternoon per week. We can also start holding a morning meetup if there is demand.
In addition to the super low-key weekly meet-ups, we do at least one bigger outing within the area one weekend per month. Ideas are to visit a fire station, go on a nature walk at Masonville Cove, attend a workshop at the Chesapeake Arts Center's Makerspace, and so on. We want to get to know our town!
We all agree that we would love to meet more of our homeschooling neighbors. If that's you, please join us!
We are not intending to replace tutorials, county-wide co-ops, or groups that travel around doing exciting things. We encourage homeschoolers to continue to engage with these groups to explore deeper learning and greater Maryland!
Our group's role is different: to invest in a strong, inclusive, and local homeschool support network in Brooklyn Park. We do this with fun, real-world get-togethers.
Looking forward to meeting you!
** Note: This group is inspired by the group "Homeschoolers of Laurel, MD" and the wording for this description was based on their wording with their permission. A big "Thank you!" to our friends for their guidance and support!
