Sunday lunch & afternoon Scrabble at Trafalgar

This seems to be our most popular venue, so back we go again to Trafalgar for a Sunday afternoon Scrabble. There is an open terrace area if the weather is suitable, but also a large indoor area.

Trafalgar is an English-style pub; they will have the full a la carte menu all afternoon, which is traditional pub grub with prices ranging from $50 (for snacks) up to $300 for steaks and all sorts in between. There are many choices for vegetarians. They have over 40 choices of English ales & ciders in bottles, plus all the usual pub drinks.

Trafalgar has generously offered us a 20% discount on the a la carte menu and 10% on drinks (many of which will also already be at the lower happy hour price before discount until 9pm).

The terrace is open but also shaded. Please commit early if you can so that I can be clear with them about how much space we need.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Trafalgar isn't a charity - if you come then please be prepared to buy at least 2 drinks or some food. This isn't going to be enforced rigidly, but if we want to keep being invited back then we do need to spend a little cash!

To get to Trafalgar you need to be on the south side of Lockhart Road on the block between Luard Road and Fenwick Street. Next to The White Stag is a lift lobby entrance. You need to take one of the left- or right-most lifts (i.e. not the middle one) to the 5th floor.

I will bring 1 travel set and 1 full size set. MaryAnn is bringing one slightly later. Please could a couple of other people bring a travel or full size board? Thanks.

SOWPODS electronic dictionaries would be good too, although I guess we can get something online.

At the moment we have 3 (later 4) sets. One more would be good to be safe if someone could bring one please. Thanks. See you shortly!

Would like to visit from Macao but will confirm later in the week. Do you play sowpods or ospd?

Those of us serious enough to worry about these things (which is probably about 30-50%of us) generally play sowpods. But be aware that we don't generally play at tournament intensity - it's a relaxed social event.
