This is a self-help group for people who suffer from depression, panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, and other nervous conditions. The group is on-going, and uses the Recovery International method described at the website, RecoveryInternational.org. Our meetings are led by former sufferers who have recovered their mental health with the help of the Recovery Method. We leaders are not credentialed mental health professionals. Recovery is not a substitute for professional care or medication. Diagnosis, therapy, and counseling are not offered. Members are expected to follow the advice of their own physician or other professional. The Recovery Method is a system of techniques that have been proven over more than 70 years to help sufferers gain permanent relief from painful nervous conditions.
I'm the leader of the Horner Park meeting. Just come to a meeting and check it out! You don’t need to bring anything. Think of a meeting as like being at work with friendly coworkers. The work is to learn to apply common-sense techniques to change the way you think and behave toward your symptoms.
**Note: We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month.
