What we're about

House music, (named "House Music" after The Warehouse club in Chicago where it originated in the early 1980's,) is a style of electronic dance music that was developed by dance club DJs in Chicago that were influenced by early to mid-1970s dance music as spun by DJs in New York, and spread to Detroit, New York, and eventually Europe. House music is strongly influenced by elements of the early to mid 1970s soul- and funk-infused dance music style of disco. House music takes disco's use of a prominent bass drum on every beat and developed a new style by mixing in a heavy electronic synthesizer bassline, electronic drums, electronic effects, funk and pop samples, and reverb- or delay-enhanced vocals.

And this is the rest of the article describing House music:

This group is for people who like this kind of music and would like to share their interest in it with others, as well as any others who would like to learn more about this kind of music. Also to spread the word and enrich the culture of House Music in Portland metro area.
There is some House Music culture movement in Rose city, but I feel that it's so underground, that I have hard time finding a place or a group that I can follow.

Founder and A&R of Life and Death, Manfredi Romano grew up tour-managing punk bands and organising left-field music events in Italy around the turn of the Millennium. Having completed his studies in computer science at the University of Pisa, Manfredi went on to form DAZE, Italy’s first booking agency solely devoted to electronic music.
Drawing on two decades of experience behind the scenes, Romano shifted focus in 2010, establishing himself as a DJ in his own right.
As a performer, Tennis valiantly showcases an astute ability to create intimacy in even the vastest of gatherings. As a respected producer, Romano consistently channels his past relationships with post-rock luminaries such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricately-synthesised electronic constellations.
Fine chef and restaurant owner, Tennis splits his time between Miami and Barcelona, where he enjoys riding motorbikes, collecting vintage action-figures and building upon his vinyl record collection - which now numbers over eleven-thousand strong.

Local Support:
💥 Umlaut
Local Heroes resident dj Umlaut will at the decks as well. Umlaut spent the first 15 years of his musical career in Germany. From a classic piano education he made his way into electornic music over 20 years ago. Besides playing the Love Parade in 2010 Umlaut toured across Germany for many years playing some of the most iconic clubs. He now calls Portland and the PNW home.
💥 Kotagachi & Zhenya aka The Dustbunnies
Kotagachi aka Dakota Ushigome and Zhenya aka Gen Ariella aka The Dustbunnies were both deep into the house music scene spending many a late night into early mornings in San Francisco and New York respectively. Both were drawn to the dance culture and connection to the scene.
In 2016, they connected in Portland where their passion for house music carried on into their relationship and they decided to just “go-for-it” by investing heavily in DJ equipment and music production classes.
One thing quickly led to another and they started playing private parties and special events. This dynamic duo skyrocketed in popularity soon after their Portland debut as headliners of CandyLand at Pride 2018, playing at notable parties at many clubs including No Vacancy Lounge, Whiskey Bar and Local Heroes. This fashion-forward two-some is known for their high energy vibe, synchronicity and crowd interaction.
Their distinct style of mixing old school house vocals alongside UK tech house beats keeps the dance floor shakin’ all night long.
