WEATHER OR GRIZZLIES MAY ALTER TODAY'S PLANS. WILL POST CHANGES AS THEY COME UP.

ALSO, BESIDES OUR USUAL PREPARATIONS FOR LONG HIKES BRING RAIN/COLD WEATHER GEAR JUST IN CASE AND ALSO LET'S WALK WITHIN SIGHT OF EACH OTHER, ESPECIALLY ME SINCE I'LL HAVE THE BEAR SPRAY.

                                        GRINNELL GLACIER

My phone in case you get lost:[masked]-1976.

The Hike: The full hike to Grinnell Glacier is ~11mi but people can make it ~7mi only by either doing an alternate hike to Grinnell Lake only or taking  two shuttle boats across Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine on the way and back from Grinnell Glacier.   After this hike, the plan is to do a stop and walk on the Trail of the Cedars Nature Trail (~2-5mi).

For driving and main hike route details seeCLICK HERE

Gathering Place: The hike map above has the driving route from West Glacier to the Many Glacier area.  Once in the Many Glacier area, follow the signs to the Many Glacier Hotel and park in the large parking lot across from it.  Once there then scan for us  near the restrooms, Grinnell Glacier trailhead, or info/hotel center.  Hopefully we will be obvious.

Optional After Hike Event : Glacier Rawhide Angus & Ale or whatever we can find in West Glacier.

G.G. Hike was a very good, moderate hike great views highlighted by azure and turquoise glacial lakes...and the chance to walk the Grinell Glacier! yeah there was a bit of rain but nothing serious.

Andrew, Hyun, Von, and I will go to Sperry Chalet. I expect that we'll leave from the trailhead between 9:15 and 9:30. We'll eat lunch at the chalet. We expect to be back by 6:00 p.m. http://www.hikinginglacier.com/sperry-chalet.htm

I'm doing the alternative Avalanche hike at 11, the ranger-led Johns Lake Loop hike at 2, the Scope it Out program at 5:30, and maybe the Glacier Night Sky program at 10 pm
