What's your background (programming , art, design, student, hobbyist)?

Programmer. I started out working on NASA projects related to the Mission Control Center while at Lockheed Martin. I then decided to get into video game development and moved to California for a couple of years to work at The 3DO Company in 2000. I moved back to Houston at the beginning of 2003 and shortly afterwards, worked for Timegate Studios for a couple of years. An opportunity came up for me to work from home on video games in 2005 and I've been working for Hypnos Entertainment as part of a team doing contract work for Activision, Atari, NCSoft, Sony, and EA. I started out mainly as a graphics programmer at The 3DO company working on PS2 and then GameCube. I've done programming work on many aspects of game development of big-budget games.
