HOW DO I BUY FIRST GUITAR?
Cheap guitars often have high string position (action) making these very difficult to learn on and cause finger calluses. Can buzz, frets aren't aligned, and their cheap strings usually are too thick for beginners and need immediate replacement. Frequently also lack critical components such as strap buttons to hold a strap and pre-amp for amplification.
Most importantly, one learns guitars usually by emulating recordings. It is very difficult to make cheap guitars sound anything alike, so learners become highly frustrated-- I don't sound alike, I sound crummy, can't play this or that chord, .... It's not you, it's the guitar.
Beginners' nylon string classical guitar should start at $80, and steel string guitars start at $175 without pre-amp and $250 with pre-amp. The pre-amp enables for easy amplification. If beginner wants a more committed guitar, on nylon--start at $300 and steel--start at $375.
TOO EXPENSIVE FOR A STARTER GUITAR!
Guitars can be resold. For example, if one purchased a guitar for $200, used it for 6 months, the guitar can resell typically for $100.
Many beginners feel they need lessons. We believe the guitar circle is one of the easiest ways to learn and free! Invest the music lessons money into a superior guitar--because this is the easiest learning step.
For example, a $200 guitar resold for $110, is equivalent to 6 months of lessons for $90 ($15 per month)--a good deal and good method!
WHAT TO WHEN VISITING A GUITAR SHOP
Strum a few chords on a $200 guitar and then on a $4,000 guitar. Notice that it takes minimal effort to sound great on the $4,000 guitar.
Notice how much easier electric guitars' strings are to press down compared to steel-string acoustics, particularly on the upper frets.
Notice the wider neck on classical nylon string guitars.
Try 12 string guitar and resonator guitar.
Test out a "modeling" guitar amp.
Then, visit our guitar circle, so we can explain above.
Beginners don't need a great sounding guitar (which are expensive), but do need an easy to play guitar with a sound they like. Learning is easy and beginners will feel motivated with preferred sound.
WHERE CAN I SAVE MONEY ON BUYING A GUITAR?
After visiting music store and selecting guitar type and price range, contact Chen Sun, Event Organizer. At guitar circle, Chen or an associate usually can provide a guitar for 20 to 30% less.

HOW DO I MAKE RESERVATION FOR THIS TUTORIAL?
Clicking RSVP here won't do it. Please send $10 deposit via Paypal to [masked] . Otherwise, please call Chen Sun, at 281 eight 04 six 246 and assure him you'll show up with payment. Many Meetupers are No-Shows, and advance payments are preferred, because Chen has to transport your rental guitar and/or arrive earlier. Balance is due at the tutorial. Thanks!
