  • Prairie is on the right at the end of County Road 2077
  • The Marysee Prairie is one of the last remnants of tallgrass prairie in the Big Thicket region.
    Come assist the Texas Land Conservancy in this ongoing effort to revive and maintain the native grasses and wildflowers on this site near Batson, Texas.  Work tasks vary by month, but involve controlling the regrowth of woody species and keeping the prairie clear for mowing. Tools provided.  Option to carpool from central Houston for those interested. The prairie is located at the end of County Road 2077, which is about 4 miles west of Batson on State Highway 105. This is approximately 65 miles northeast of central Houston.
