Happy Holidays!

ABOUT PRESTONWOOD

Prestonwood Forest annual Holiday and Christmas light decorations are among the city's best.  And the official list of "2013 Nite of Lites" Winners have been announced.  I created a map with addresses for each winning category.

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Let's visit the neighborhood and photograph the best-of-the-best!  Although we have this event listed for 3 nights, you can post images from anytime you visit there this year!

Don't forget to bring the family and your favorite Christmas Light Photography gear!

Here's the map:

are we allowed to park nearby, or does that stop the flow of traffic?

We did. There are some areas that are easier to park than others. As long as traffic in both directions can get past you.

I'm actually headed there tonight. I told my wife about it and now it seems we are taking her mother, my stepson and his wife and 5 grand kids in 3 vehicles! Thanks for making the dates flexible, I would also suggest if you can be there a bit earlier just after sunset you might get a bit of the dusk tones in the sky for whole house shots. it can be a nice change from the all black sky later on. There was a time when I used to shoot a lot of architecture for clients and another trick is to use the Tungsten setting (or a filter in the film days) if your camera has one and it will give better color rendition to the warm lighting and add some drama to any glow in the sky or shadow areas. Not sure about the new LED lights for settings, they seem awfully cold toned compared to tungsten ones.

If anyone is interested there is a home in my subdivision, Gleannloch Farms, that does an amazing display of lights timed to music. The music is broadcast on a FM radio station. It is a small lot but it is truly awesome and worth the short drive from Prestonwood. The house is located at the intersection of Rose Dawn Lane and Prairie Clover Lane in Spring.
