Mike Aus: A Pastor's Journey to Atheism

Mike Aus is a former Christian pastor who spent over twenty years in the ministry, most notably as the former head pastor of one of the largest Lutheran churches in Texas. Last March, Mike decided to leave the ministry and come-out publically as an atheist for the first time in a live broadcast on MSNBC.

Join Mike as he shares his story of growth and discovery from pastor to atheist, and discusses the repercussions he has faced in the wake of his decision to leave the ministry.

This event is co-hosted by the Humanists of Houston and Houston Atheists.

Mike is a great speaker (which I would suppose comes from years of practice). I would not be surprised to see Mike become a prominent member in the international atheist community.

Mike Aus is a really good speaker. He was thorough and kept my attention. The variety of his experience, knowledge and his insight was fascinating and provided valuable information.
