Drum Show, Dinner and Dancing with The Mayapuris'

The Mayapuris are a kirtan band, breathing new, young life into sacred 5,000-year-old songs, inspiring yogis, swamis and rock stars all over the world to sing, dance and be transported. A nomadic tribe of artists from Florida, Sweden, Columbia and India found themselves connected by the birthplace of kirtan, the tiny, holy West Bengal city of Mayapur, where school pals became band mates, best friends and spouses. The Mayapuris’ sound is a product of a global upbringing, punk rock attitudes and a genuine desire to serve the world with powerful, uplifting music. It’s a party, an ecstasy booster, a musical bridge between everyday life and a connection to something bigger. We invite you to meet the Mayapuris, the freshest voices, beat makers, dancers and scene-leaders in kirtan. The new school is in. Follow the beat.

Tickets:  $25 (Early Bird price, valid until 4/30 if you mention Meetup!)

It surpassed my expectations! Everyone who attended enjoyed themselves, with a delightful vegetarian meal followed by singing and dancing and even a magician!
Hope Mayapuris come back to Ekam next time they pass through Houston!

WOW!! I had heard great things about The Mayapuris, but to actually experience them in an intimate setting ~ that was a very special treat! We sat and listened to ancient stories of life and wisdom, we learned to chant and Kirtan together, we were bedazzled by hypnotic dancing, drum shows and magic shows, and then we all experienced our own ecstatic dance. It was amazing and I highly recommend anyone who was not able to join us, to please check out their next shows in the Houston area. go to: for their tour schedule.
We will have them back again and bring a Dance Workshop as well!!
