What we're about

Hey ho Let's go is a positive music group for people with long term illness, pain, disabilities and mental health issues.
The groups aim is to self enpower people through the mystical healing power of music and to discover hidden potential that through illness/pain etc has maybe been hidden or not had the opportunity to be expressed! Music for me is a universal language ,which speaks to us all. This group aims to build self esteem, confidence and a sense of achievement Illness/pain used to define me,now my guitar playing does that!
I run the group with 2 other friends and we are funded by Scope Charity through the People's Health Lottery. We hold monthly Saturday meetings at Cornerstone Community Centre and admission to the group is £3.00.Refreshments are available and there is easy wheelchair access and disabled washroom facilities. No musical experience is needed and we do encourage people to bring their own instruments! The group is 2 hours and in the first hour will be improvisation/jam and second half will be working together on a well known cover song. There will be opportunity to recite your own poetry, write and sing your songs and bring in your own musical ideas and compositions.
