This Meet Up is for anyone interested in having a place to wonder out loud about the work of Stephen Jenkinson, author of several books including Come of Age The Case for Elderhood in a Time of Trouble, and Die Wise A Manifesto for Sanity and Soul.
Stephen is a teacher, author, storyteller, spiritual activist, ceremonialist and founder of the Orphan Wisdom School, a teaching house and learning house for the skills of deep living and making human culture. It is a redemptive project that comes from where we come from. It is rooted in knowing the unauthorised history of our culture, being claimed by ancestry and working for a time we may not live to see. To find out more about Stephen and his work please visit http://www.orphanwisdom.com
If you are looking for a place to wonder out loud with others about culture, death, grief, elderhood, wisdom and the consequences of our times then please do join us.
There is much material available to read and listen to via the Orphan Wisdom website (https://orphanwisdom.com/interviews/), podcasts, radio shows and the like. Our current favourite is this two hour video interview from London Real. The first hour they talk about death and dying in a death phobic culture. At 1hr 25mins they shift to talking about Elderhood. Please do try to watch some or all of it.
