What we're about

This group is based on the book How to Talk so Kids Will Listen & Listen so Kids Will Talk. We are using an interactive DVD designed by the authors. It is also recommended that you purchase How to Talk as well as Liberated Parents, Liberated Children because there are reading assignments, but you can still get something out of the sessions even if you don't do the readings. We will get together in Farmington the second and fourth Sundays of the month from 6:45 - 8 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: The group is currently closed to anyone who did not attend the first or second sessions. You can contact me directly and I will put your name on a list in case I go through the sessions again at some point in the future.

PLEASE NOTE: This meetup is only for those who attended sessions one or two. If you would like you can message me and I will keep your name handy in case I do all of the sessions over again in the future. The goals of this session are to enable participants to: 1. Understand the importance of helping children become separate, self-governing people who can one day function on their own. 2. Understand the relationship between spanking and a child's diminished sense of self. 3. Learn specific skills that encourage self-reliance. 4. Practice using these skills in home, daycare, school, and hospital settings.
