Join me and a few friends to hear the interesting sory of "Parks for People: The History of the Westchester County Parks System," with speaker Carl Oechsner.

Carl Oechsner is a graduate of Ithaca Collge and Columbia University. He is retired social studies teacher from Ossining, NY, where he created the "Backyard History" curriculum which took students into the community using the Hudson River Valley as his classroom. He is the author of books on Ossining and Croton-on-Hudson and has co-hosted with historian and author Lincoln Diamant a Cablevision series on local history. He has walked every inch of the Croton Aqueduct and loves to share his passion for this historic site with others.
