I don’t remember when we last rode through the Catskills. It definitely did not happen last year. So let’s do that before we forget again. :-)

Route details go like this: We will cross the TZ Bridge on our way west, ride through Harriman SP, follow various back roads to reach Port Jervis. In Port Jervis we will gas up. Then we will cover a short hop to Hawks Nest where we will take group photos. After that we will ride straight to Roscoe for lunch at a local diner. We should get there by 2 pm. Take snacks with you if you will be in danger of expiring before we reach Roscoe.

Who should join the ride? - We do not discriminate in this group. With that said, this is probably not a ride for absolute beginners due to its length. With that said again, if you feel confident and adventurous, you are always welcome no matter what bike type you have as long as you can go 100 miles between fill-ups. Pls do note the day will be intense, full of riding, much of it at a pace. When you are spending the day on two wheels, miles fly by while you are enjoying beautiful scenery.

After lunch we will ride routes 30 and 28 through the park passing near two lakes-water supply reservoirs for NYC. We will cross back Hudson in Kingston and then make our way to the Taconic Parkway which we will follow south into Westchester.

We will have 2.5 stops before lunch: One stop in Harriman SP, then half a stop in Port Jervis (gas only) and then the last one in Hawks Nest. After Catskills on our way back we will play it by ear when we stop and where.

This trip includes scenic routes and twisties. Ride length is 300 miles or so. This is a one-day trip. We will start off around 10 am to give ourselves plenty of time, and hope to return by the evening.

E-Z pass recommended but optional.
