Introduction

International man of leisure. "The once great champ, now, a study in moppishness."

What was the last good book you read? Why did you like it?

Under the Skin by Michel Faber. After watching the film, I was at sea about much of the plot and couldn't wait to read the novel to get the details so enigmatically left out of the film. It was well worth it. The book was a jarring meditation on the nature of humanity and whether meat is murder.

Of the Hugo and Nebula Award winning novels, how many have you read? (See wikipedia for lists.)

Dune, The Left Hand of Darkness, The Forever War, Neuromancer, Starship Troopers, The Sirens of Titan, Stranger in a Strange Land, Cat's Cradle, Flowers for Algernon, Slaughterhouse-Five, Children of Dune, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, H.P. and the Goblet of Fire, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, A Dance with Dragons, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, The Handmaid's Tale, A Game of Thrones and A Clash of Kings.
